Christmas 2010

Was Christmas a blur for anyone else? Holy cow... I am still tired from the month of December!

I'm not sure why we feel like we have to cram EVERYTHING into such a short period of time... I always worry that if we don't get everything in we won't have the Christmas spirit and then Christmas will suck. What I fail to realize is that when I do cram everything in, we are so busy and tired and ornery that Christmas starts to just get WAY too overwhelming. That's what happened this Christmas.

We did all the usual traditions: Gingerbread houses, Temple Square, Christmas party after Christmas party after Christmas party... see- here's proof that we got it all in:

Christmas Eve- new jammies, Santa cookies and an apple for Rudolph's nose.

Christmas Day:
DYING to go down to see if Santa came...

Avery got her "dream" Barbie Townhouse and holy cow it is FUN!

Ty got a Batman suit that he hasn't taken off since Christmas.

Aspyn got lots of DS games, a cool remote control Millennium Falcon and, of course, Lego sets...

I think what I liked best was the week AFTER Christmas. Staying in my jammies- ALL DAY. Playing the new Wii that we pooled our Christmas money together to buy and eating the leftover sugar cookies. I may have even played with the Barbie Townhouse a time or two. :) For me, THAT was the fun part of Christmas. My goal for next year is to simplify, simplify, simplify!
